June 2010 | New Biwa Awning Installed
A new awning was installed at Biwa Restaurant in conjunction with a Portland Bureau of Transportation bike parking corral and Portland Development Commission storefront improvement grant. The custom-designed cantilevered awning structure was fabricated from stock steel sections and was welded, bead-blasted, and clear powder-coated before site installation.

June 2010 | Lacamas Creek Residences Fully Leased
The Lacamas Creek duplex was designed for a narrow lot in Camas, Washington, overlooking waterways joining the Columbia River. Built to high environmental performance criteria within a tight budget, it balances compact living with openness to southern daylight, outdoor living areas, and views of nature. May 2010 | Rose City Park Renovation Nearing Completion
The Rose City Park Residence, an extensive renovation and structural "roof raising" of a Craftsman bungalow, is on schedule with final touches to be completed soon. Primary construction is finished, interior finishes by the owners are in progress, and trees are in blossom. See Rose City Park Residence for more information.

October 2009 | Collins View First North American Installation of DAIKIN Altherma
The Collins View Residence was the test site for a DAIKIN Altherma air-to-water heat pump used for an integrated hydronic and domestic hot water system. After nearly a year in service, the project is now the subject of a case study prepared by DAIKIN AC [PDF 1MB].

September 2009 | Collins View Residence on "Build It Green" Tour
This Certified LEED Platinum residence in SW Portland was selected to participate in the City of Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability 2009 "Build It Green" home tour. The project incorporates an air-to-water heat pump, architectural aggregate pervious concrete paving, and 2.4kW of solar PV panels, among other systems.

September 2009 | Report Published on Constructive Form's Winning Design Entry
A report on the winning design competition entry, "Urban Savannah, Alley Midlands, Understory Dwellings" [PDF 4MB], has been published by Metro Integrating Habitats. From the report: "This design includes features that improve habitat and water quality and also enrich lives by making people and their properties a key part of something bigger: watershed health."

July 2009 | Collins View Certifed LEED Platinum
The Collins View Residence, completed in February 2009, was certified LEED Platinum under the LEED for Homes Pilot Project in March 2009 by the U.S. Green Building Council. Earth Advantage was the LEED for Homes Program Provider. Read the Earth Advantage news story.

March 2009 | Constructive Form Presents at Portland Citywide Land Use Meetings
Constructive Form partner Simone Goldfeder gave two presentations to the Citywide Land Use Group, a Portland citizens’ group. The presentations included research on mapping, resources, land use, and design policies.

November 2008 | Aquarium of the Pacific Watershed Classroom and Exhibit Completed and Awarded LEED Certification
Constructive Form partner Simone Goldfeder, while at EHDD Architecture, was the project designer for the Watershed Classroom and Exhibit at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. The LEED Platinum project has been noted for NetZero performance. Read the full story.

February 2008 | Constructive Form Wins Metro Integrating Habitats Competition
Constructive Form’s design, "Urban Savannah, Alley Midland, Understory Dwellings," won the first-place prize for Metro’s Integrating Habitats Competition, Category 3: Residential Infill and Oak Woodland Habitat.
